Just pondering ways
you and I can interface
to create an amazing
user experience
About
Thank you for visiting my small corner of the world!
I’m Danny (the Creative Cybergeek
). Most web and mobile applications have a purpose. My mission is to help my clients realize that purpose by bringing their ideas and dreams to life.
I have a passion for designing and building websites, writing, traveling, and photography. I’m the founder of the Creative Cybergeek, providing freelance web design, front-end web application development and photography services. I’ve worn many hats over the years, and have worked in both the public health and private corporate sectors. My educational background is in psychology, counseling, photography and full-stack web development.
As a web designer, I tap into my understanding of human psychology and the things that motivate us, as well as my obsession with making things of beauty that add to the user experience. I believe good user interface design greatly enhances the user experience.
As a front-end developer, I love writing HTML, styling with CSS and making it dynamic with some JavaScript. Whether static or dynamic, HTML, CSS and JavaScript should all work in harmony with the interface to create the best user experience possible. Form doesn't follow function - form and function are a team.
And finally, as a photographer, I have a very wide range of interests as you can see from my images below. Sometimes my photography makes it into my designs; other times I just enjoy the process of capturing images. And while it’s true that a picture can be worth a thousand words, it’s important to make certain they are the right thousand words if using images to improve the user experience.
